This is our new YouTube Channel for Los Ranchos Presbytery. LRPtv was created by Rev. Tom Dykhuizen, pastor of Emmanuel Presbyterian Church in Long Beach and our guru and sparkplug for improving our media communications. LRPtv is one piece of a much bigger effort to improve our overall cooperation and communication as a presbytery. Another piece is a dramatically different kind of presbytery website which is almost ready for release.
These new efforts are all tied to the work the Odyssey Group is doing to help us learn to be a new kind of presbytery together.
The Odyssey Group moderator, Tod Bolsinger (who is also pastor of San Clemente Presbyterian Church), reported to the July, September, and November presbytery meetings. His reports are posted at LRPtv.

LRPtv is an experiment that our council has approved to see if this serves us well. It is a bit daring, and there is some risk. On the downside, in YouTube you are always only a few clicks away from undesirable content – as is the case with the internet in general. On the positive side, it can help us communicate in more effective ways with greater access for more people (more than just those who come to the presbytery meeting, for example). LRPtv is an experiment by the council – a trial period – so your feedback is important.
We are thankful to Pastor Tom Dykhuizen for all of his efforts in leading the Media Arts Team to help us be a better presbytery together. Tom was the creative genius behind the creative Evangelism Committee reports of the past several years. He is the talent and energy behind LRPtv, which takes a huge amount of time and labor to make the video clips work properly and look good. And wait until you see the new website which I believe you will enjoy. This has been a labor of love by Tom and we are deeply indebted to him.
